This NICA web site is intended to provide general information to consumers and other lawyers about the Florida Birth-Related Neurological Injury Compensation Plan, sometimes referred to as the NICA Plan. We are not the official NICA agency.  We are a private law firm and we believe people whose lives may be impacted by NICA should have a better understanding about how the program works.  We can also help you decide whether to seek the benefits of the NICA program, or instead, attempt to avoid the NICA program and bring a medical malpractice case to recover damages.

If you are the parent of a birth-injured child looking for information about the NICA program we suggest you begin by reviewing the section on this site called "Frequently Asked Questions" from the link on the left.  

If you are trying to determine if your child is eligible, click the Link on the left called "Is My Child Covered?"  While we can give you information about coverage, please remember that no final decision about coverage can be made except by filing an actual petition for NICA benefits with the appropriate administrative law court.  We can help you do that at no charge to you.
